These videos are for people who want to both learn to mimic the sound of gear such as the sp1200, MPC, ASR, and also implement some of the successful techniques of the great producers past and present. I will be focusing on free and cheap resources that have proven to work well for me. Live is a very effecient tool for quickly sketching ideas and also final polishing of beats… This video explores a simple chopping of a drum break in to individual hits and the arrangement and some tweaking of the sounds to produce an original loop.
