Der Titel selbst „HipHop & Rap” drückt bereits aus, worum es in dem Song aber auch in Sunny’s Leben geht. Auf einem Beat des kroatischen Hit-Produzenten Koolade und mit Unterstützung von Vega wird „HipHop & Rap” wiederbelebt und im Handumdrehen der Puls eines jeden Musik-Junkies auf 180 getrieben.

Prefuse 73 from NYC did a small gig in Utrecht. I wasn’t too impressed with the chaotic layers of sound, though the second half of the gig made up for that. Suddenly there was structure and some ill beats. .

OK, not my usual cup of chai, but it was cool so here we go…
A week last Friday saw the Notts heat of the UK Human Beat Box Championships, live from the Rescue Rooms, Nottingham. Despite our distinct lack of hoodies (although I think one of us may have driven a Corsa with twin exhausts back in the day), our "posse" of four descended on this audio and visual spectacle to learn not only what it is to be "street" these days but what vocal shenanigans is currently "down with the kids".
Local hero and previous national finalist – "Petebox" took the crowd by storm mashing up some good bass (base?) and familiar rhythms across the 3 heats, although the highlight of the evening was my mate Tom winning a bet that at least one of the contestants would attempt rather predictably Seven Nation Army as a part of their set. And as expected, it went down with the crowd as unconvincing as "Ronaldo in a penalty box". All in all, a very entertaining evening was had by all and yes, the drive home did involve us all taking it in turns to do the White Stripes rather badly, saying "feshizzle" a lot and then practising high hats whilst brushing our teeth before bed.
