I’ve been making beats for a few years now, and sometimes I’ll get in a funk where everything I make doesn’t sound very good. What’s always worked for me is real life inspiration. For your music to be real, for you (and others) to be able to feel it, there needs to be something behind it. There needs to be something feeding it. Something that’s giving it the soul that’s behind every sound used.

Try listening to different kind of music like jazz and when you hear something you like just make a sample.I dont think you suck you just need to practice.

I made a few fluke dope beats myself when I first started beat making. Then like you I went a month or two without making anything good and eventually I got lazy and realized I suck. Making beats is hard work. You might get lucky with your first few because you have some specific songs in mind that you know would make a good beat and that no one else has thought to use. But your 20th beat or so is what separates the hard working determined producers from lazy and crappy producers like me.

    Damn….wish Cap was here….

What exactly do you need to know? I mean it could be your samples itself….it could be the pieces you take from the sample…it could be how you chop it….could be because of your drums….

Why do you think your joints suck? and It really depends on how long you been doing this….if your like 4 years deep while consistantly working on music and its still wack… then yeah you suck.lol….but if you just started then its a learning process….takes a really long time my dude….
